TS Security joined the 2023 Cyber Security Week in The Hague with Taiwan’s MoDA-led delegation, exchanging insights with KPN on telecom cybersecurity
ThunderShield Security was honored to attend the Cyber Security Week (CSW) held in The Hague, Netherlands from October 2 to 5, 2023. The event was attended by Taiwan's cybersecurity delegation, led by the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MoDA), who joined international delegations from around the world for the CSW opening ceremony, visited the ONE Conference and Business Event, and attended the ECSO Cyber Investors Days — expanding international exchange and collaboration opportunities.
Taiwan plays a critical role in the global supply chain, particularly in high-tech manufacturing, and as a result faces intense cyber threats — research data shows Taiwan can face up to 15,000 cyberattacks per second. This visit centered on enhancing Taiwan's cyber resilience, with a particular focus on the telecommunications sector to gain deeper understanding of the challenges and approaches in cybersecurity protection, incident response, and business continuity within communication networks.
The delegation included members from research institutions, think tanks, and cybersecurity companies, led by the Ministry of Digital Affairs. MoDA, established in 2022, is responsible for Taiwan's digital security governance and promoting related policies. The trip involved participation in various activities and discussions exploring research topics, service models, and cross-border collaboration directions to strengthen overall cyber resilience.
During the trip, the delegation visited KPN, the Netherlands' leading telecommunications company, for an in-depth exchange on cybersecurity challenges and protection strategies in telecom environments. As a key player in telecom cybersecurity, KPN hosted the delegation with KPN's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Erno Doorenspleet and Remco van Oostrom, product lead for the "Digital Dutch Xperience."
During the exchange, MoDA briefed the group on Taiwan's cybersecurity landscape and government initiatives, after which KPN shared their telecom security perspectives and practical insights. The visit concluded with rich, multi-perspective discussions and laid a strong foundation for future cross-border collaboration.
We were delighted to participate in this international event and look forward to continuing exchanges and deepening cooperation with the global cybersecurity community to jointly enhance cyber security and resilience.
