ThunderShield Attends 2026 Taiwan Digital Trust Forum, Focuses on AI Act Compliance

ThunderShield CEO Leo Lu attended the 2026 Taiwan Digital Trust Forum, which covered anti-fraud governance, the AI Basic Act, AI agent trust, and digital identity infrastructure.

ThunderShield Security CEO Leo Lu recently attended the "2026 Taiwan Digital Trust Forum," hosted by the Digital Trust Association in Taiwan, which featured four sessions covering anti-fraud governance, AI regulation, trust in AI agents, and digital identity infrastructure.

Session 1: The Fraud Crisis and Rebuilding Trust

Explored how enterprises and government can jointly use data and detection capabilities to counter increasingly sophisticated fraud, drawing on government case data, tech-industry fraud signatures, and retail-sector fraud patterns to discuss how data can genuinely help rebuild public digital trust.

Session 2: The AI Basic Act Takes Effect: New Compliance Challenges for Enterprises

Taiwan's AI Basic Act was promulgated on January 14, 2026. While the regulatory framework is set, details are still being filled in, requiring enterprises to prepare under uncertain compliance requirements. Panelists examined, from the perspectives of regulators, local legal practice, and multinational corporate counsel, where compliance actually gets stuck and how to address it.

Session 3: Trust Challenges in the Age of AI Agents

As enterprises hand more decisions to autonomously operating AI agents, trust requires technology, standards, and law to advance together — covering the boundaries and risks of agent capabilities, how digital identity verification standards can confirm an agent genuinely represents a person or company, and the legal gaps in liability when an agent makes a mistake.

Session 4: The New Era of Digital Identity: Global Practice and Local Outlook

Digital wallets are often discussed purely as a matter of usability, but they represent Taiwan's first serious attempt at credential-based digital identity infrastructure. Policy has moved quickly, already including digital wallets in key infrastructure plans and launching use cases such as convenience-store pickup, and this session looked at how industry is positioning itself in response.

The AI Basic Act and AI agent trust sessions in particular speak directly to the AI governance and compliance needs enterprises will soon face, echoing ThunderShield's own ongoing focus on post-quantum cryptography inventories and AI security assessments in its advisory work. ThunderShield will continue tracking these regulatory and technical developments to help clients get ahead of the risks.
